Quebec declaration advances every child’s right to quality early childhood education

The very successful summit on early childhood education in Quebec, following the release of the report of the Quebec Commission on Early Childhood education, agreed to an important declaration affirming the right of children to quality education services from birth onward and pledging to mobilize broad support to make that right a reality.

The declaration, which has already received support from individuals, organizations and leaders representing a broad cross-section of Quebec’s population and economic sectors, sets out specific measures necessary to address and improve the quality of early childhood education, and expand access to support the development of all children, including those at risk and with special needs.
