The Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care has called on the provincial government to act in three areas as it moves to double the number of child care spaces over the next five years:
- An affordable sliding fee scale, geared to income, with a cap
- Base funding of programs based on fair wages for educators
- Limit expansion to the non-profit sector to ensure quality, stability and accountability
