CCAAC and Partners Launch Re-Think Child Care

Too many families are struggling to find decent child care and scrambling to piece together care they can afford. It doesn’t have to be this way. It’s time to Re-think child care – it’s time to put child care back on the federal agenda.

The CCAAC is working with our union partners to launch an exciting multi-year campaign; “Re-Think Child Care”. In the first phase of this three year campaign we will support 1-hour Kitchen Table Conversations to take place in communities across the country. Whether they take place in your own home, in your workplace, your union hall or local community centre, kitchen table conversations offer a way for people to come together to talk about how Canada’s child care situation is failing families and children.

Through sharing our stories we want to highlight the need for government action on child care. We want to mobilize members and the broader public to demand child care policies and funding that will support young parents to better balance work and family responsibilities. We want to engage members and the public in campaign actions and to get involved in making child care a central issue in the 2015 federal election.

Whether you are a parent, grandparent, friend, co-worker or an aunt or uncle you may have a story to share that shows why child care services need to be made a priority for governments. To hear some of the early stories from the parent perspective go to
